- increased permanent capacity from 13,000 to 25,000,
- upgraded corporate hospitality, bars and function spaces,
- a refurbishment of the existing grandstand area,
- new media centre facilities, plus the addition of a large video scoreboard and
stadium sound systems,
- re-configuration of the shape and surface of the main arena, and
- security fencing.
Fletcher Insulation Products
A range of Fletcher Insulation products were incorporated into the design and construction of the facility. Sisalation® Metal Roof sarking was the product of choice to lay across 5,500 square metres of the grandstand’s south-east and north east roofs that were built to provide cover in certain sections of the grandstand. Sisalation® Metal Roof sarking is the ideal choice for a project of this nature given it provides an effective vapour barrier that reduces the risk of water entering the roof space and dripping down onto bystanders.
Fletcher Insulation’s Permastop® Building Blanket, a glasswool substrate fabricated with a Sisalation® reflective foil laminate, was also utilised throughout the project to satisfy thermal and acoustic requirements; as well as to provide an effective vapour barrier.
Permastop® Building Blanket is a leading insulation product solution providing many benefits to a building’s occupants; it also enables designers to satisfy a range of design requirements
through the specification of a single product.
Fletcher Insulation’s range of glasswool insulation products provide significant benefits to the environment. By adopting the proven performance of glasswool insulation, you can be sure that the energy savings that are expected will be achieved, and by using less energy our buildings will reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Fletcher Insulation glasswool is made using superior clean technology which represents a new era in green manufacturing. In addition, rainwater is captured and used in our manufacturing process and is then recycled. Our raw materials consist of approximately 80% recycled glass – much of which cannot be used in other processes and would otherwise go into landfill. Our plants are committed to operating in an environmentally sustainable fashionand have received accreditation to the environmental standard ISO 14000. Fletcher Insulation glasswool products have been recognised by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) as being at the forefront in the area of sustainability. All Fletcher Insulation glasswool and reflective foil products meet the GreenStar insulant ODP emissions credit requirement, are low in VOC and safe to use in recommended applications.
The Fletcher Insulation products installed on this project will contribute to the ambience of the Showground, thereby ensuring the millions of visitors that enter the facility each year are hosted in a comfortable venue for the duration of their stay.
